The call from our Lord is to persevere in the face of repeated, persistent, and often agonizing temptation. But it’s important to remember that we’re not called to do this on our own.
Our human dignity is founded upon the Word of God that lives in us by the power of the Holy Spirit. And that Word is dynamic and living, never static or flat.
Are you at peace with yourself? How often we can fool ourselves, through benevolent busyness, but when we stop to listen beyond our reason, beyond our feelings, what do we hear? If it is peace, we are abiding in Christ.
God despises bores. Easter reminds us of this. Put the redemption of the world into our hands, and we’d come up with something unimaginative, uninspiring, and probably much too believable.
