The Rev. Dr. Jeremy W. Bergstrom is rector of St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Lake Mary, Florida. Jeremy was raised Methodist, but as he discerned a call to ministry and began theological study he discovered he was a catholic Christian. He first attended Southeastern Baptist Seminary for his MDiv, then St. Vladimir’s for an MTh in Greek Patristics, and finally conducted research on Augustine for his PhD at the University of Durham, where he studied with Carol Harrison, Andrew Louth, Lewis Ayres, and Mark McIntosh.
After a year of further study and teaching at Nashotah House, he enjoyed three happy years as an assistant at St. John’s Church in Savannah, Georgia, and then three and a half years as Canon for Vocations in the Diocese of Dallas and priest-in-charge of St Christopher’s, Dallas. He began his ministry at St. Peter’s Lake Mary on the Feast of Epiphany, 2019. He is married to Jackie, and is the proud father of three young boys: Nathanael Harrison, William Caedmon, and Colman Elias. His current hobby is spending time with his boys, but as they grow older he hopes to spend more time running, playing basketball, and trying his hand at making and refinishing furniture.
